Ingredients and substitutions
Only five ingredients done in succession, makes this decadent dessert that can please any chocoholic and still be good that it doesn’t spike your sugar count up through the roof.
One stick / cube of butter sliced and placed into a double boiler pot
5 eggs
Seven ounces of chocolate at least 70% cacao
One and one third a cup of coconut sugar
One tablespoon of casava flour – if you don’t have casava flour you can substitute with almond flour
How to make this Keto Flourless chocolate cake
In a double boiler pan with water heating and a metal bowl not sitting directly on the water, place your slices of butter to melt.
Add your chocolate slices into the melted butter a little at a time and stir occasionally until all the chocolate is integrated with the butter mixture.
Eventually add your coconut sugar to the mixture and keep mixing until all the sugar is integrated into the mix and lower the heat temperature of the burner.
In a separate cake pan measure out a parchment paper piece about an extra two inches around the dish that will line the inside of the pan.
Wrap the parchment paper inside the dish and fold accordingly to keep the circle of the dish and lightly spray with a healthy oil.
Take the melted chocolate off the burner and let chill and eventually when it has cooled off mix in one egg at a time using a hand blender until all five eggs are incorporated into the chocolate mixture.
Add the tablespoon of casava flour and stir well.
Afterwards pour the entire contents into the round dish and make sure it covers the entire surface of the dish.
Place dish into a convention oven and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 24 minutes, take it out of the oven and place on the kitchen countertop
L it cool on a rack on the kitchen countertop and eventually you can cut slices of the cake and garnish the way you want to finish it.
How to make it extra special
This dessert takes so decadent on its own but if you really want to up it just a notch to salivating stage consider doing these things:
Add some delicioius fruits to add some color and pizazz to your presentation (in this instance I used some huge and extra ripe cherries) You can add fresh healthy fruit like raspberries, black berries, blue berries or strawberries
How about a nice dollop of whip cream to add more rich contrast to the dish
A low carb ice cream dessert for complete dessert experience you’ll only try as a special treat will really bring it up a notch. Or you can just present this as an option to your guests who would love to eat ice cream with this
Plating your dessert dish
You don’t really have to do much to make this dish more spectacular than cutting it into nice smaller pieces since the richness of the cake doesn’t need to be a big slice.
Plat the dessert in one of your favorite smaller dessert dishes and add something special like any of the condiments above to add more texture and different flavors that contrast with the rich chocolate taste.
