Delicious and healthy apple yogurt recipe
I love eating apples and this easy and healthy apple yogurt recipe is fast to make and nutritious. A good snack dish or breakfast side dish, you can make this with any apples that you prefer but I’m very fond of pink ladies which are crunchy and flavorful at the same time. I add some blueberries to give the dish more color and flavor.
You can eat this dish immediately or store it up to two days in the fridge and eat as a snack or even a side dish.
Why are apples good for diabetics?
Apples are a good choice for diabetics due to their low glycemic index, which leads to a slower rise in blood sugar levels. They are high in soluble fiber, particularly pectin, which helps regulate sugar absorption and maintain stable blood sugar. Additionally, apples are low in calories and provide essential vitamins and antioxidants like vitamin C and polyphenols, which contribute to overall health and help reduce inflammation.
The natural sweetness of apples can satisfy cravings without causing spikes in blood sugar, making them a healthier alternative to processed sweets. The fiber content also promotes satiety, helping to control appetite and support weight management, which is important for diabetics. Enjoying apples in moderation as part of a balanced diet can be a beneficial strategy for managing diabetes.

How long does this last in the fridge?
Typically, this will last you 2-3 days before the apples loose their firmness and flavor, so make in a smaller batch that works for you.
